Day Twelve: Matthew 11

Its like this reading plan knows right when to provide a shorter reading. I got a little behind posting but am on track as far as daily reading. In this chapter we revisit some points of the previous day which happens often in the chronological plan, but repetition is actually a good thing for us while we are learning the stories. Some have more details than others. The following section of the reading reminds me that there is an on going spiritual war going on and until John came forceful men laid hold of prophesy and law, still today many push others in their beliefs and refuse to accept that we worship the Father and are saved by his one son Jesus Christ. We all must have a relationship with him in order to see what we need to and what heavenly father is trying to tell us. We are like children learning spiritually and growing in faith and wisdom. We must receive spiritual milk like an infant must receive from the mother or from formula to grow enough to be able to receive the meat.
12From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it. 13 For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John. 14 And if you are willing to accept it, he is the Elijah who was to come. 15 He who has ears, let him hear.16 "To what can I compare this generation? They are like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling out to others: 17 " 'We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not mourn.' 18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, 'He has a demon.' 19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and "sinners." ' But wisdom is proved right by her actions."
The next part reminds me of myself, I say myself since I am not here to call out anyone but me. I judge myself here because I know the path I walked at  first and I know where I fell to which caused me to walk a hard path back to the faith I had at first. It goes to show you even when you see miracles right before your eyes the flesh still wants to question it causing confusion and leading you astray. It happened in the old testament, it happened in the new testament and still happens today. People will say I will believe it when I see it but they are the same as these people that see it and still do not repent since they are living for themselves and the flesh and not spiritually seeking after the greater gifts of heaven.
20 Then Jesus began to denounce the cities in which most of his miracles had been performed, because they did not repent.
We must remember that God is not human and he is not the enemy, he is all good, therefore he doesn't lie and he doesn't change his mind to cause confusion. We must be aware that all those confusing and questioning thoughts being provoked is the battle between flesh and the enemy. God chose Jesus his only son to be him in the flesh because he knew that he would redeem the world from sin washing us with his blood and cleansing us with the Holy Spirit through baptism. There are so many burdens of this world that it can be physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually draining. With the scriptures and the words of Christ they seem nearly nonexistent in his light. It is true, it may be hard to believe for some especially if you are lacking faith, understanding, and devotion. If you seek and study him it is hard to believe there is any other way to live since he has provided a way and a place to drop your burdens on him which in return gives us peace to withdraw from those frustrations.
27 "All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. 28 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
